Human Chakra System and music

According to Ancient Indian Language (Sanskrit) ‘Chakra’ means “Spinning Wheel of Energy”. In human body there are various centers of energy which are known as Chakras. There are mainly 7 chakras, running up the spine, which are each connected to a nerve plexus, situated within the seven main endocrine glands  These chakras have different rates of vibration or sound. By balancing these Chakra with Chakra healing sound, healthier balance of the body, mind and spirit can be achieved.

Each of the seven main Chakras govern different emotional states, and also, different parts of the body. Each of the seven main Chakras also responds to a different Chakra sound healing frequency.
These 7 chakras correspond to the seven notes on a musical scale. They can help to clear negative emotions and energy and restore balance. Following table shows the corresponding note for each chakra.

Ragas also help to activate specific chakras. Ragas also influences the chakras in maintaining their optimum spin and balance, ensuring a balanced energy supply to different organs that are connected to the specific chakra.

  2. I have a question. The Western letters relating to the chakras, are they so for each person? Or can a person have different notes related to the chakras?

  3. Hi rishima, I really appreciate your question. As far as the relation of musical notes and human body chakras are concerned, it is the frequency that matters. My coming post is all about this only. I will surely cover the context of your question in that. Keep in touch or you can join the blog to get all the latest updates about my blog.

  4. Nice topic, Ankita. Yes, the notes connect to the several chakras and the technique of Raga Chikitsa is based on healing us from within by activating and balancing the different elements. Music is a very calming yet powerful healing tool.
